Self-Defence Athens, Greece

Principles

Awareness / Alertness
Self Defence is about awareness. Is about the pre-contact phase.
Is about making the best tactical decision in a given situation.
Aggressiveness / Coolness
One of the most difficult things to accomplish is to relax under severe pressure. Controlled aggressiveness is a term that can come close to describing the desired psychological mind set in an altercation.
Interception
Intercept the attack. Do not block, try to deflect or destroy the attack. Use footwork. Surprise them.
Speed
OODA - observe, orientate, decide and act fast.
Disruption
Multiple, almost simultaneous hits in the upper and lower level, short-circuit the opponent's mind. Disruption of his balance makes the assailant unable to act.
Adhesion / Stickiness
Sensitivity training, for better positioning and identification of the opponent's weaknesses.
Target focus
Try to hit at places that matter.
